Jun 8: Celebrate Howe Sound / Átl’ḵa7tsem! A virtual event

The Howe Sound / Átl’ḵa7tsem Marine Reference Guide is hosting a free event on World Oceans Day 2020, to celebrate Howe Sound.

The event will be an evening of storytelling about the treasured place we call home: Howe Sound / Átl’ḵa7tsem. It is a wonderful opportunity to hear amazing stories submitted from individuals all around the Sound. The themes for these stories include connection to place, adventure, species and habitats, and culture. Some stories may make your heart race with excitement and adrenaline, while others may have you shedding a tear from their depth and wonder.

Fiona Beaty and Bridget John will be co-hosting this online event using Zoom’s webinar platform. There will be many storytellers who will be sharing their stories live or through recorded video, song, spoken stories or poems. Fiona and Bridget will be sharing links to videos during the event, so be sure to participate from a location with good internet connectivity.

The event is free to attend, and you will receive a recording that you are free to share. If you are unable to attend the
live broadcast, registering for the event will allow you to watch the recording at your convenience.

If you have friends, family or colleagues that may be interested in attending, please share this information and registration link.
