Video Parody: The Twelve Days of Planning

At a Bowen Island Municipal Council Meeting in late December, 2006, members of the Cape Roger Curtis Trust Society amused councilors with a parody of ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas”. It was caught on this video for your enjoyment. You may also read the lyrics below.

On the first day of planning, our council said to us we’ll investigate very carefully

On the second day of planning, our council said to us
Cape Roger Curtis we’ll investigate very carefully

On the third day of planning, our council said to us
let’s do it right
Cape Roger Curtis we’ll investigate very carefully

On the fourth day of planning, our council said to us
no road through crown land
let’s do it right
Cape Roger Curtis we’ll investigate very carefully

On the fifth day of planning, our council said to us
WE NEED A PARK!
no road through crown land
let’s do it right
Cape Roger Curtis we’ll investigate very carefully

On the sixth day of planning, our council said to us
comprehensive planning
WE NEED A PARK!
no road through crown land
let’s do it right
Cape Roger Curtis
we’ll investigate very carefully

On the seventh day of planning, our council said to us
there has to be rezoning
comprehensive planning
WE NEED A PARK!
no road through crown land
let’s do it right
Cape Roger Curtis
we’ll investigate very carefully

On the eighth day of planning, our council said to us
the wild coast is calling
there has to be rezoning
comprehensive planning
WE NEED A PARK!
no road through crown land
let’s do it right
Cape Roger Curtis
we’ll investigate very carefully

On the ninth day of planning, our council said to us
huge public interest
the wild coast is calling
there has to be rezoning
comprehensive planning
WE NEED A PARK!
no road through crown land
let’s do it right
Cape Roger Curtis
we’ll investigate very carefully

On the tenth day of planning, our council said to us
owners not discussing
huge public interest
the wild coast is calling
there has to be rezoning
comprehensive planning
WE NEED A PARK!
no road through crown land
let’s do it right
Cape Roger Curtis
we’ll investigate very carefully

On the eleventh day of planning
our council said to us
not sure what to do
owners not discussing
huge public interest
the wild coast is calling
there has to be rezoning
comprehensive planning
WE NEED A PARK!
no road through crown land
let’s do it right
Cape Roger Curtis
we’ll investigate very carefully.

On the twelfth day of listening we suggest to you
remember what you promised
comprehensive planning
need to have rezoning
the wild coast is calling
community involvement
Preserving and protecting 5% of Bowen
WE NEED THIS PARK!
take back the process
do it now
Cape Roger Curtis we are watching you very carefully
